Dry Hair : That Helps With Stressed Tips!

Anyone with dry hair needs the proper care. But what helps? We have the best tips for brittle hair.

Dry hair: That’s The Cause

In the normal state, every single hair is closed. So it reflects the light and shines particularly beautifully; simultaneously, the inner hair core is protected. But especially in summer, the hair is severely damaged: When swimming in the sea, for example, saltwater causes the hair to swell so that the scales stick out and the natural moisture evaporates. The salt crystals settle on the hair like small magnifying glasses and intensify the effect of the sun. This triggers a reaction that corresponds to a chemical brightening at the hairdressers.

Necessary: If you go out in the sun, you should take this into account: The best thing to do in the morning is to spray a UV protection spray into your hair that is still damp. The application should be repeated if the sun is heavily exposed.

Dry Hair Is Damaged Hair

A few days on the beach are, of course, not that bad. However, if you blow-dry your hair regularly, dye it hair or do not comb it gently enough, your hair will be very strained – excellent and long. Porous areas are created; sometimes, even entire flakes are torn out, the hair looks leached and hangs flat—the result: split ends and hair breakage. Damaged hair can therefore be the direct result of dry hair.

The dryness of the hair can also be related to the hormonal balance: While the scalp often produces too much fat during puberty, production decreases during menopause. This can affect both fine and thick hair. And curls are almost always dry because the scalp’s natural oil doesn’t slide down as well as it does on smooth strands.

Dry Hair: Shampoo, Conditioners, Care Tips

Dry hair needs moisture-binding substances such as vegetable oils(for example, coconut oil ), waxes or urea that wrap around the entire hair like a nourishing film. There are now even memorable product lines that differentiate between dry hair. So that the hair can be combed well after washing, a conditioner should be applied and washed out. Wet hair is very delicate and easy to tear. If you don’t comb your hair carefully, split ends can result.

Care products that do not need to be washed out are also advisable for dry hair. These include special care sprays that make the hair easier to comb and hair oils worked into the tips. But: Too much hair care can also be harmful.

Therefore, the right shampoo, hair treatment, and conditioner must be rinsed thoroughly. An additional leave-in product is recommended after shampooing.

Tip: Use a sulfate-free shampoo. These products do not contain any aggressive cleaning substances that could additionally dry out the hair.

Stressed Hair: Shampoo, Conditioners, Care Tips

Cosmetic chemists assume that damaged hair can be the result of dry hair and is rather delicate. Therefore, unique active ingredients are required to dock onto the porous areas and repair the damage with pinpoint accuracy. At the same time, however, the care must not be too rich so that the hair is not weighed down too much and hangs flat after washing.

Therefore, when buying care products, use shampoo and rinsing that are especially suitable for damaged hair. These products contain repair substances that build up the hair from the inside. Nourishing ingredients such as oil, keratin and panthenol help the hair to recover from stress. A conditioner seals the hair structure after shampooing and protects against environmental influences.

Care instructions: Stressed hair should be allowed to take a break from blow-drying and straightening irons now and then. If you don’t want to do without a sleek look, you should conjure it up with a special gel; for curls, you can cheat with a braided pigtail and beach spray. Braid a braid while it is wet – open it after drying and enjoy the curls.

Necessary: Do not use hair ties with metal. These strain the hair unnecessarily and can damage it. In addition, the hairstyle should be changed every day. So you can be sure that the hair is not stressed in the same place every day.

Is Your Hair Dry And Damaged? That Is The Proper Care Now

Is the hair brittle AND damaged? In this case, one should first concentrate on caring for the porous areas and using products for damaged hair. In the case of slight damage, you will see an improvement after about five applications, but depending on the hair condition, it can take longer. Then switch back to usual care for dry hair.

Hair In Winter – Do You Need An Extra Dose Of Care?

Is it essential to change your hair care routine in winter? Yes, because, like the skin, the hair also needs the care adapted to the season. Hair oil is an ideal companion in winter: Take a drop several times a day (coconut oil or argan oil is also possible), rub in the palms of the hands and pour the oil into the tips and lengths. This way, protruding hairs can be tamed. The extra care has several positive effects: The hair doesn’t dry out as much, and the colouration also lasts better.

Now We Should Treat The Scalp To Something!

And that doesn’t just apply to anyone prone to dandruff. Blow-dryer heat, hot water, dry heating air: the scalp can do a lot. In addition: regular shampoo cleans the hair but does not care for the scalp. If it is tight, it is better to use special shampoos that specifically soothe and moisturize it. With acute itching, tinctures that are massaged into the skin and not rinsed out can help. Don’t worry: as they are fully absorbed, there is no “oily hair!” Alarm.

Silicones – Do We Need Them In Shampoo?

Is your hair limp even though you wash it regularly? Some shampoos contain water-insoluble silicones that wrap around the hair every time it is washed, gradually weighing it down. This “build-up” effect can be avoided by using shampoos without or with water-soluble silicones. How do you find out whether and which exactly are in a product? You can recognize them in the list of ingredients by the endings “-cone” or “-cane”. If there are silicones, check the Internet to see whether they are water-soluble.

Dry Hair: The Best Home Remedies

The best home remedies for dry hair are oils. Both the nutritious olive oil and jojoba oil, almond oil, coconut oil or argan oil. The oils donate not only moisture and nourishing substances to the stressed hair but also protect each hair.

A mask with coconut oil can be made by melting three tablespoons in a water bath. Stir a raw egg into the melted liquid and leave the finished treatment on your hair for about 30 minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo.

An alternative hair mask can be made with dried hibiscus flowers. You can buy these in the tea shop. Put a handful in half a litre of boiling water and let it steep for 20 minutes. Then let the tea cool down and apply lukewarm to the hair. Massage in well, allow it to take effect and rinse out with water.

Caution: This Should Be Avoided During Care And Styling

Regardless of whether it is acceptable or robust: after washing, the hair is around ten times more sensitive than before – so it should not be pulled when combing, even if you are in a hurry. A cold shower or a vinegar rinse ensures that the cuticle contracts and the hair is less sensitive. Heat is also harmful to the hair: That’s why you shouldn’t blow dry it too hot or too often, instead let it air dry. Do not use a straightening iron every day; protect your hair from the sun with a hat or cloth or apply for UV protection.

Hair Breakage & Co. – What Helps?

Unique treatments in the hairdressing salon provide particularly intensive care. In the so-called “Ritual Kérathermie” by Kérastase (duration: 60 to 90 minutes, approx. 75 to 100 euros), for example, a mix of regenerating oils and artificial keratin (a hair component) is funnelled into the hair and then with a straightening iron at 180 Degree sealed.

The “Damage Remedy Hair & Scalp Renewal” from Aveda (Duration: 60 minutes, approx. 40 to 60 euros), on the other hand, brings a combination of quinoa proteins, Tamanu oil and essential oils inside the hair and is said to increase the resistance to hair breakage by more than 70 per cent.

The hair is divided into triangular strands with split ends and twisted so loosely that the split tips can be cut off. This can also be done at home – but the hairdresser grades the hair to fall evenly. If you want to hide protruding hairs, it is best to warm up a light styling emulsion (available in the drugstore) in your hands and gently stroke it over your head.
